This year for HOPE worldwide of Canada’s National Day of Service the Edmonton Chapter had the privilege to serve the homeless in our community over two days, June 5th & June 7th. We joined the great staff and other volunteers at Hope Mission, a non-profit group who provides meals, shelter and many other opportunities to 250-500 people each day. This was a great opportunity as families with children 6 years and older were able to volunteer together in this capacity, which we have never done before. Along with a handful of our youth we served meals while the younger children made cards of encouragement and handed out hygiene socks (socks with soap & toiletries rolled inside) to the patrons before they left for the night. Over all the experience was impactful for each one of us, including the children and we look forward to working on more projects with Hope Mission in the future!
