Our Recap of HOPE in Action 2024!

We are delighted to share the results of our recent fundraiser, Hope in Action which demonstrated the impact of community and generosity throughout each chapter!

The Chapter in Winnipeg hosted an engaging fitness carnival in St.Vital Park, where you could walk, run, or partake in a Zumba class in the park! Throughout the course, there were 3 stations where people could participate in axe throwing, play a beanbag toss game, and spin a fitness wheel for their activity challenge. Approximately 100 people attended the fundraiser and the Winnipeg chapter raised more money than in past years for HOPE in Action. To top it off, the chapter directors rewarded the hard efforts of the volunteers with a BBQ and 2 beautifully decorated cakes. It was a sweet gesture and a great way to end the event!

The Edmonton Chapter held a 5km walk between the two schools they support and have programs at. After the walk, they enjoyed a fun community BBQ at Thorncliffe School for the participants. The principal and vice principal of Thorncliffe School also attended the fundraiser. The Edmonton chapter also had a special guest appearance from well-known Edmonton Oiler fan, Mama Stanley, who enjoyed the event, and many people were happy to meet her!

Toronto West Region had their Hope in Action event at The Mississauga Valley Park. They had 22 Participants; the largest group they've had in years! Participants walked and ran at the event, and others encouraged or gave financial support. The funds that they raised will go towards providing grocery items, back-to-school backpacks, toys, and personal products for abused women and their children. Some money will also go to those in shelters and temporarily unhoused people in Mississauga.

The Chapter in Newmarket organized a 3km walk around the beautiful Fairy Lake in Newmarket. Others walked in Toronto from Mel Lastman Square to Glendora Park. The funds that they raised will go towards purchasing back-to-school supplies for low-income families and providing meals for the homeless!

The Chapter in Quebec City organized their first activity for Hope in Action this year! Participants could walk or run, and the event had three different fitness stations. People could also watch a video detailing what the organization does. Unfortunately, it began to rain, but the weather didn't stop the Quebec City Chapter! They continued their fundraiser and encouraged people to send donations to both HOPE worldwide Canada and HOPE worldwide Bolivia. The Chapter in Quebec had an amazing fundraiser and a great time!

The Calgary Chapter hosted a 5km walk and a 20km bike ride with 30 people walking and 10 riding their bikes! They had a great turnout! The day's highlight was everyone walking along Bow River as the biking crew rode from Pearce Estate Park to Edworthy Park. Beautiful scenic views and camaraderie were enjoyed by all!

The Chapter in Halifax organized a lovely stroll by the seaside for their event. During this fundraiser, they also raised more funds than they have in the past 3 years! This year, funds will go towards supporting the local Sunday Supper Program, the Dartmouth Community Fridge, assisting Newcomers to Canada, providing youth with Back-to-School Backpacks, helping a School in Kathmandu Nepal as well as supporting other HOPE worldwide Canada programs in Halifax.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to HOPE in Action - together, we are making a real difference in the lives of many!
