Every year volunteers from the Toronto get involved with Project Engagement, a Toronto-based charity that works to alleviate poverty. This initiative, whose annual food drive delivers a month’s supply of healthy fresh and packaged food to 500 families, was co-founded in 2004 by Councillor Michael Thompson and his friend, Vincent Gasparro.
Our dedicated team of volunteers joined over 200 people in Scarborough just before Christmas to assemble nutritious food boxes for distribution to poor families.
One of our volunteers, Dave Ivey said; "It was a great privilege to join with many members of the community to prepare food baskets for 500 families in need. It was a tremendous way to start the holiday season with giving to others."
Daniel Nip: "It was a great environment with many people rallying together from different groups for one common cause and that is to help bring hope and joy to a family's Christmas."
